About WetinDeySup

“What's happening?” — Nigerian Pidgin

What is this?

WetinDeySup is an AI-powered news aggregator focused exclusively on the Nigerian 2027 general elections. It monitors 30+ major Nigerian news outlets around the clock, filters out non-electoral content, and uses a large language model to summarise and categorise each article before it reaches you.

Every article you see here has been judged relevant to the Nigerian electoral process — covering INEC, political parties, campaigns, bills, voter registration, security, and electoral analysis.

How it works

  1. 1

    Hourly scrape

An automated agent runs every hour via GitHub Actions, fetching the latest articles from RSS feeds and HTML pages of major Nigerian news outlets.

  2. 2

    Keyword pre-filter

Articles without electoral keywords (INEC, election, APC, PDP, candidate, 2027, etc.) are dropped instantly — no AI call needed.

  3. 3

    AI relevance filter

Surviving articles are sent in batches to Llama 3 (via Groq). The model decides: is this genuinely about Nigeria's electoral process? Edge cases like "primary healthcare" vs "party primaries" are caught here.

  4. 4

    AI summarisation

Relevant articles are summarised into plain-English paragraphs, categorised (INEC, Bills, Campaigns, etc.), tagged with key entities, and assigned an electoral level (Presidential, State, Local).

  5. 5

    Reliability scoring

Each article receives a score (0–100) based on source credibility, corroboration across multiple outlets, and entity matching consistency.

  6. 6

    Published to DB

Processed articles are stored in Neon PostgreSQL. This page re-fetches every 5 minutes so you always see recent news.
